01 · Overview

The Challenge

Aloha Animal Outreach conducts monthly outreach to unhoused communities and their pets across O'ahu, but their digital infrastructure couldn't keep up. The website was a dated WordPress build with no donation flow or mobile optimization. Field data lived in six disconnected spreadsheets with no real-time alerts, no case timelines, and no way to flag urgent situations. There was no merch presence and no passive revenue stream beyond one-time donations.

02 · Approach

What I Did

Designed and built a three-part ecosystem:

Public website: A ground-up rebuild in Astro with direct Stripe donation integration, Netlify Forms for volunteer and partner inquiries, and a new Partners page targeting corporate sponsors.

Field operations app: A custom internal app with a situations-based data model built specifically for animals living long-term with unhoused owners, not the linear intake-to-adoption flow of standard rescue software.

Merch store: A Printful-integrated Shopify store handling passive revenue with zero fulfillment overhead.
